Palnadu is a district in Andhra Pradesh, formed in 2022 by carving out portions of Guntur and Nalgonda districts. It is cradled by the Krishna River to its south and the Nallamala forest ranges to its north.

Palnadu is synonymous with the legendary Battle of Palnadu (1182 AD), narrated in the famous Telugu ballad "Palnati Virula Katha" by Srinatha — a symbol of valour, tragedy and sacrifice.

Palnadu is blessed with numerous ancient temples and sacred sites. The Palnadu Sri Maha Saiva Kshetram at Gamalapadu stands as one of the most revered shrines.
